There are three ways to get to the island,
1. Fly with Stewart Island Flights - Flight time 20 minutes ( www.stewartislandflights.com )
2. By ferry - Crossing time 1 hour ( www.foveauxexpress.co.nz )
3. Swim - Current record is 8 hours 40 minutes ( not really advisable though as not many people have succeeded and the water is very, very cold )
